WHERE DO WE BEGIN?
Sixty hours of palpitating, anguished moments, 3600 mins of gruelling fire fighting, 216000 seconds of TV bytes capturing and flashing the gruesome pictures of a pluralist democracy lying victimised, accursed and crushed ...
And finally it is time to garland the heroes and hail the martyrs but most importantly, after hours of " high level meeting" it is time to dole out inane platitudes like "We must fight terrorism " - In a face saving mission ministers sacked , and finger pointing kept alive with "fresh invesatigations" to validate/justify or condone inappropriate actions.
Arn't we sick and tired of this nonesense ? I am not a visionary, I am follower. And so I want someone to tell me what I should DO, rather than rant and rave and cry. My heart is bursting. I want to DO more than wear black or white and burn candles. I want to DO more than just write my piece or keep reading what others have written. I am afraid otherwise, before this week is over, we will forget this fire in our belly, that is stoking us to come alive to the painful choices (or lack of it) to live meaningfully. I am scared we will once again accept our fate and live in that world of inane platitudes..." We must fight terrorism" .
So finally we will decentralise the NSG - I had heard it when Akshardham happened and my husband was commanding the BLACK CATS - 4 nodal points is it , and 500 more commandoes and a dedicated aircaft for them? ... I cant help but feel sorry for the limited vision of our leaders.
Can't they see that despite our best attempts world wide, terrorism is building up ( as is our apathy) gradually - the black tornado will only gain momentum and ferocity with every passing day... The maginitude of a future calamity, as i see it, will be far , far bigger than 4 NSGs to contain it. We are sitting on atime bomb can't we see it?
We need to get rid of our smug existence of saving for a rainy day. We need to live like soldiers herefater and be ready for a war instead. We, each one of us need to be trained in urban warfare tactics ( whatever that is). Instead of sending our children for their tutions while we catch on our favourite serial start training ourselves and our children to face a deadlier and more brutal attack than this - (perhaps a chemical warfare?) - something that is going to wipe away not a few hundreds next time but millions in a whiff.
Please someone tell me where do we start to prepare ourselves to DO and DIE A HERO'S DEATH ?

Did you notice that NSG commadoes were transported in BEST buses ?
I felt that was pathetic..
Dear Jaya,
You have hit the nail on the head (yet again). But where do we go from here? At the moment, even as I write this comment, the media is in the process of taking view upon view of the people - citizens, eminent business persons, clergy, administrators etc etc .... as you said, , this is a familiar exercise post-Akshardham, (and Kargil, and Godhra and ... the list is endless). I think we are just too impotent as a nation .... we lack the guts to challenge the politician and his 'chamcha' administration .... its all about who is in power, who is the VIP and whats in it for him .... its NOT about the nation.
There are too many facets of .... your blog will add, even if its just a drop in the ocean.
Clearly, YOU have the heart of an Indian .... we need to make all politicians and babus become one of us!!
